這本書由林業署嘉義分署委託製作，記錄了阿里山林業發展中，鄒族人與山林共生的深厚歷史。透過精美的插畫與詳實的文獻，帶領讀者走入時光隧道，重新看見這片土地的足跡。

在本次專案中，我擔任視覺設計與內頁排版。核心挑戰在於如何將插畫家的創作完美融入歷史敘事中，並透過後期調整提升整體的視覺節奏感。為了對應龐大的史料內文，我負責排版與更深入調整插畫素材。透過修改背景與色彩細節，確保插畫能與文字產生呼吸感，並根據篇幅需求靈活運用元素敘事，延伸視覺張力。我與插畫家針對頁數分配、構圖空間與文字預留位置進行細節討論，確保最終的印刷實體能達成最理想的閱讀體驗。

Commissioned by the Forestry and Nature Conservation Agency, this editorial project aims to reconstruct the Tsou narrative within the history of Alishan’s forestry. By integrating rich illustrations with historical archives, the design seeks a balance between heritage and contemporary aesthetics, translating the cultural symbiosis between the Tsou people and the forest.

Design Philosophy & Execution

In this project, I spearheaded the visual integration and editorial layout. The core objective was to transform illustrative assets into a functional visual language, optimizing the narrative flow through strategic typographic and spatial arrangements.

Visual Asset Adaptation & Re-composition

To accommodate extensive historical text, I performed deep post-production on the illustrations. By adjusting color palettes and backgrounds, and strategically re-composing visual elements, I created multi-layered layouts that maintain a harmonious rhythm between complex information and visual storytelling.

Art Direction & Collaborative Coordination

I maintained high-level synchronization with the illustrator throughout the process. Every aspect, from pagination planning and compositional spacing to typographic placement, was meticulously calculated to ensure a precise synergy between illustration and design, resulting in a high-caliber editorial outcome.
